Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 17, 2026

Nometi (“Nometi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. Nometi is fiscally sponsored by The Hack Foundation, doing business as Hack Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, through its HCB platform.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you access or use our websites, applications, and related services, collectively referred to as the “Services.”

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Account registration information
  • Login and authentication information
  • Profile information
  • Business or organization information
  • Information submitted through forms, surveys, applications, or questionnaires
  • Messages, feedback, support requests, and other communications
  • Content or information you upload, enter, or submit through the Services

Please avoid submitting confidential, sensitive, or legally protected information unless it is necessary to use a specific feature of the Services.

Donations

Donations to Nometi are made through HCB, the fiscal sponsorship platform operated by Hack Club. When you donate, you provide your payment details directly to HCB and its payment processors, not to Nometi. We never receive or store your full card number or bank account details.

HCB may share some donation information with us so that we can keep financial records and thank donors, such as:

  • Your name, unless you choose to donate anonymously where that option is offered
  • Your email address
  • The amount and date of your donation
  • Any message you include with your donation

We use this information to keep accurate financial records, meet our obligations to our fiscal sponsor, and respond to or thank you for your donation. HCB and Hack Club handle donation information under their own privacy practices, described at https://hackclub.com/privacy-and-terms.

Account and Authentication Information

When you create or access an account, we may collect information necessary to authenticate you and protect your account. This may include:

  • Account identifiers
  • Login timestamps
  • Authentication provider information
  • Session information
  • Device and browser information
  • Security and fraud-prevention information

If you log in through a third-party provider, such as Google, Microsoft, or another authentication service, we may receive information authorized by that provider, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier.

We do not receive your password from third-party login providers.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and features used
  • Referring and exit pages
  • Dates and times of access
  • Approximate geographic location
  • Clicks, interactions, and navigation activity
  • Error logs and performance data
  • Cookie identifiers and similar technical information

We use this information to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Services.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep users signed in
  • Remember user preferences
  • Provide essential website functionality
  • Understand how users interact with the Services
  • Measure website performance
  • Identify technical problems
  • Prevent fraud and unauthorized access

All cookies used by Nometi are first-party cookies. This means the cookies are created and accessed through a Nometi-owned domain rather than being placed directly on your device by a third-party website, advertising network, or unrelated organization.

Some service providers may process information collected through our first-party cookies on our behalf. However, we do not use third-party advertising cookies or permit third-party advertising networks to place cookies directly through the Services.

Some cookies are necessary for the Services to function. Other cookies, such as analytics cookies, may be optional depending on applicable law and the controls available through the Services.

You may be able to manage cookies through your browser settings or through cookie controls provided by the Services. Disabling certain cookies may prevent parts of the Services from functioning correctly.

2. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Services
  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users and maintain login sessions
  • Process user-submitted business information
  • Personalize the user experience
  • Respond to questions, feedback, and support requests
  • Communicate with you about the Services

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of Nometi, our users, and others

We may also use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for research, analytics, product development, and other lawful purposes.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We may share information in the circumstances described below.

Service Providers

We may share information with companies that help us operate the Services, including providers of:

  • Website hosting
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Databases
  • Authentication
  • Email delivery
  • Payment and donation processing
  • Analytics
  • Error monitoring
  • Customer support
  • Security and fraud prevention

These providers may access information only as reasonably necessary to perform services on our behalf and are expected to handle the information appropriately.

Our Fiscal Sponsor

Because Nometi is fiscally sponsored by Hack Club, Hack Club holds and manages funds on Nometi’s behalf through HCB. We may share information with Hack Club, and Hack Club may access information about Nometi’s finances, including donation records, as reasonably necessary to administer the fiscal sponsorship, keep financial and tax records, and meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Business and Collaboration Purposes

When a user submits information about a business, organization, project, or opportunity, we may use or share that information as reasonably necessary to provide the requested feature or service.

We will not publicly disclose personally identifiable or confidential business information unless:

  • The user has authorized the disclosure
  • The disclosure is clearly part of the requested service
  • The disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:

  • Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process
  • Respond to a lawful government request
  • Enforce our terms, agreements, and policies
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services
  • Protect the rights, safety, or property of Nometi, our users, or others

Business Transfers

If Nometi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Where required, we will provide notice before personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We may share information when you request, authorize, direct, or consent to the sharing.

4. Analytics

We may use analytics providers to help us understand how visitors and users interact with the Services.

Analytics information may include:

  • Device details
  • Browser information
  • Page views
  • Session activity
  • Approximate location
  • Referring pages
  • Cookie or device identifiers
  • Interactions with features and content

Any cookies used for analytics through the Services are first-party cookies.

We use analytics information to:

  • Evaluate usage
  • Improve features
  • Identify technical issues
  • Understand user engagement
  • Measure the effectiveness and performance of the Services

Analytics providers may process this information on our behalf under their own contractual and security obligations.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Maintain user accounts
  • Fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce agreements
  • Prevent fraud and security incidents
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements

Retention periods may vary depending on:

  • The type of information
  • The reason the information was collected
  • Whether the user maintains an active account
  • Legal or regulatory requirements
  • Security and fraud-prevention needs

We may retain aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for longer periods when it can no longer reasonably be used to identify an individual.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from:

  • Unauthorized access
  • Loss
  • Misuse
  • Alteration
  • Destruction
  • Disclosure

However, no website, database, storage system, or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

You are responsible for:

  • Protecting your login credentials
  • Using a strong and unique password where applicable
  • Maintaining control over devices used to access your account
  • Notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization

7. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request a portable copy of your information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Opt out of certain communications
  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link included in the email.

You may still receive essential communications relating to:

  • Your account
  • Security
  • Authentication
  • Legal notices
  • Changes to the Services
  • Support requests
  • Transactions or actions you initiate

To submit a privacy request, contact us at [privacy@nometi.com].

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Some requests may be limited or denied where retaining or processing information is necessary to:

  • Comply with the law
  • Protect security
  • Prevent fraud or abuse
  • Maintain records
  • Resolve disputes
  • Exercise or defend legal claims
  • Continue operating essential parts of the Services

8. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by:

  • Contacting us at [privacy@nometi.com]
  • Using an account-deletion feature made available through the Services

After an account is deleted, we may retain limited information when reasonably necessary for:

  • Legal compliance
  • Security
  • Fraud prevention
  • Dispute resolution
  • Financial or accounting records
  • Enforcement of our agreements

Information that has been aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified may not be deleted because it no longer reasonably identifies you.

Deleting your account may permanently remove your access to information, content, or features associated with the account.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us at [privacy@nometi.com]. We will review the request and, where appropriate, delete the information.

Users between the age of 13 and the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction should use the Services only with the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.

The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, platforms, or services.

These third parties may include:

  • Authentication providers
  • Social login providers
  • Email providers
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Embedded content providers
  • Donation and payment platforms, such as HCB
  • External business websites

We are not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or data-handling practices of third parties.

A third-party website or service may use its own cookies or tracking technologies after you leave Nometi or directly interact with that third-party service. Those technologies are governed by the third party’s privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy.

You should review the privacy policies and terms of third-party services before providing information to them.

11. International Users

Nometi may operate and use service providers in the United States and other countries.

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be:

  • Transferred to another country
  • Stored in another country
  • Processed in another country

The privacy and data-protection laws of those countries may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.

Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

12. California Privacy Notice

California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy laws.

Depending on whether those laws apply to Nometi, these rights may include the right to:

  • Know the categories of personal information collected
  • Know the sources of personal information
  • Know the purposes for collecting or using personal information
  • Know the categories of third parties to whom information is disclosed
  • Request access to personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
  • Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information
  • Be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights

Nometi does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

Nometi does not use third-party advertising cookies or allow third-party advertising networks to place cookies directly through the Services.

We do not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.

California residents may submit a request by contacting [privacy@nometi.com].

13. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting.

Because there is not currently a universally accepted standard for responding to all Do Not Track signals, the Services may not respond to every Do Not Track request.

Where legally required, we will recognize applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control.

Because Nometi does not sell personal information or use third-party advertising cookies, some opt-out signals may not materially change how the Services operate.

14. Communications

We may use your contact information to send:

  • Account notifications
  • Authentication messages
  • Security alerts
  • Service announcements
  • Responses to support requests
  • Updates about features or policies
  • Promotional or informational communications where permitted

You may opt out of promotional communications by using the unsubscribe link provided in the message or by contacting us.

You cannot opt out of communications that are necessary to operate your account or provide important legal, transactional, or security information.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.

If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through:

  • The Services
  • Email
  • A website notice
